Schools in Denmark, you know?

In Denmark we have compulsory education from 0 to 9th grade. So, that means that you not only can choose the community school, but you can also go to private school or educated at home.

85% of the children, that's 600.000, are being educated in community schools. A very small group are educated in private schools. And very few are educated at home.

There are 1550 community schools and 450 private schools in Denmark.

Normally you start school the first school year after your 5th or 6th birthday.

In Denmark, teachers aren’t addressed with Ms. or Mr. You just address them by their first name.

School uniforms are very uncommon, but in a few private schools, the children have to wear them.

Best regards
